Tens of thousands of fans attended a memorial service for Charlie Kirk at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona, recently joined by US President Donald Trump and some of his top officials.

Speaking at the service were President Trump, Vice President JD Vance, and Erika Kirk, the widow of Charlie Kirk. Vice-President JD Vance claimed that Kirk “changed the course of history,” while Trump praised him as a “giant of his generation” and declared that the country is “in shock and mourning.”

Erika Kirk urged people to “choose Christ” and follow her husband’s purpose in an impassioned and profoundly religious address. The audience gave her a standing ovation when she sobbed and said she had forgiven the man who had shot her husband.

On September 21, Donald Trump delivered a eulogy during Charlie Kirk’s public memorial service in Arizona. He informed the crowd that he had been asked to “save Chicago” by the conservative political organization.

On September 10, Kirk was shot and killed during a debate on campus at Utah Valley University. Some of the conservative activist’s ostensibly last remarks to the president were mentioned in Donald Trump’s funeral for Charlie Kirk.

‘Please, Sir, Save Chicago’

On Sunday, September 21, at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona, Trump, 79, spoke during the public memorial service for the political organizer. In one of his last exchanges with Kirk, he said, Kirk begged him to “save” Chicago during his more than 40 minutes on stage.

As he has done in Washington, D.C., Trump has promised to bring National Guard troops into the city as part of a government crackdown on crime. “We’re gonna do that, we’re gonna save Chicago from horrible crime,” he added.

“I’m so proud of Washington, D.C., and now we’re going into Memphis, and we’ll get that one straightened out fast,” Trump stated later in his speech. After that, we’re going to do some other ones, but first we’re going to do Chicago, and we’ll make sure to keep Charlie in mind while we’re there.
