“ANTI-ICE” was scribbled on an unspent casing that was discovered Wednesday while looking into a shooting at a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement facility in Dallas, according to FBI Director Kash Patel.
On Wednesday, three people were shot at the ICE facility in what authorities said was a targeted assault. The Department of Homeland Security said that a third person was critically ill at the hospital and that two people had died. According to DHS, all three victims were inmates.

Additionally, the gunman died from a wound he had caused on himself. “While the investigation is ongoing, an initial review of the evidence shows an idealogical [sic] motive behind this attack,” Patel stated, sharing a picture of the bullets on X.
Local, state, and federal law enforcement officials acknowledged at a news conference that the shooting at the detention center on North Stemmons Freeway occurred at approximately 6:30 a.m.
Officers from Dallas discovered four victims of gunshot wounds. Among those, the shooter was one of two deceased. The hospital received the other two. Since then, the Department of Homeland Security has confirmed the death of a second victim. The condition of the third is critical.

Officials confirmed that none of the casualties are law enforcement personnel. According to officials, the identity of the shooter and the victims will not be made public just yet.
According to the Department of Homeland Security, the shooter fired from a height. Two ICE detainees and the attacker, who is believed to have died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound, are among the three fatalities. No law enforcement or ICE officers were harmed.
FBI Director Kash Patel posted images of bullets with the words “ANTI-ICE” scrawled on them, indicating that early phases of the inquiry indicate to a “ideological motive” even though the cause is yet unknown. Patel stated that violence against ICE agents and facilities “must end” and that the FBI and its allies will take the lead in any investigations.
